Data Practices Act Policy for the Rice Creek Watershed District - January 22, 2003

In accord with MN statute, Chapter 13 (Data Practices Act), the Rice Creek Watershed District (RCWD) hereby adopts the following data practices policies regarding the dissemination and retention of information.

Access: RCWD office hours are from 8-4:30 M-F except holidays. Individuals are encouraged to call in advance to set a time to meet with staff to inspect RCWD data to ensure that the right person is here to assist you. RCWD staff will make every effort to accommodate the schedule of those requesting information so that citizens may enjoy convenient review of RCWD information. For large requests, the RCWD staff will, again, do their best to comply with the request as soon as they can given the other requirements of their jobs.

Fees: As stipulated by the Data Practices Act, no fee will be charged for inspecting data or for classifying data. Fees will be charged if copies are requested according to the following schedule:

20 Paper Copies or Less: No Charge

More than 20 Copies: 20¢/copy and time spent to gather information and make copies at an hourly rate of $20.00.

Maps

8.5" x 11" maps: Same fee schedule as text (no charge for five or less), but 40¢/copy

11" x 17" maps: $3/copy plus time to create copies at $20/hour

Larger Maps: $5/copy plus time to create copies at $20/hour

Electronic Copies

CDs: $2/copy plus time to create copies at $20/hour
