Please make a pre-application appointment with Permitting Staff to help with application, talk through the project, and make the process more efficient. This is strongly encouraged but not required.
RCWD’s Permit Application is available below to fill out and submit online (a PDF version is also available to print and/or email in Resources section). It’s important to communicate with RCWD early in the permit process, Permitting Staff contacts at bottom of page.
All parts of the application may be submitted electronically except for the application fee.
There may be some cost-share or other assistance for aspects of a project that go beyond basic permit requirements.
Once an application is received, it’s reviewed by staff and the District Engineer for compliance with District Rules (see District Rules in Resources). Please see the “Permit Application Review Schedule” PDF for additional detail regarding the review process.
Other permit related information and guidance documents at the bottom of the page in the Resources section.
Important to note that you may need other permits from agencies in addition to RCWD also. Contact your city or county for their permitting requirements. The Department of Natural Resources or the Army Corps of Engineers may require a permit for some activities in or adjacent to waterways.
